  • The app is garbage, customer service is atrocious

    HBO content is what it always has been, a small handful of shows per year that you will find fantastic and access to a small number of films per year that you cared to see but haven’t yet. This app gives you access to that content for a far better price than cable plus whatever. The app itself is mind bogglingly terrible. Aside from frequent crashes and failures to load (I have uninstalled & reinstalled the app more than any other app, ever), there is no easy access to the content you want to watch (e.g. no adding an entire show to a watchlist), no rhyme or reason to any “Feature” menu, and any app update could produce any number of odd, unexplainable changes that will cost you A LOT of time to remedy. Customer support is always there and always willing to spend the time with you to help fix whatever the latest HBO programing screw up is, which is great. But there is absolutely no care in the world for the time you have to waste to fix the product you have paid for and they have managed to screw up again.

    Be careful getting the free trial, you will be charged after one month via iTunes so you will have to cancel it through the iTunes settings and you will still be charged even if you delete the app
  • New Update is Terrilbe

    New update is terrible, especially on the iPad. When u open and search for a title the screen forces the portrait style instead of landscape until you click into the actual content. Netflix’s app is so much easier to use!!!
  • I want my money back; it’s trash

    This app is a rip-off; no joke they will charge you when you choose to end your subscription during the free trial. I was charged with $15.70 and i’m not happy with how the app works. I had got this app because it was an editors choice but it shouldn’t be; I was charged for the plan I chose when I had unsubscribed a long time ago. I had tried to get help from apple but they wouldn’t help me. Also I had trouble trying to login in to my account, my email and password was correct it had took me a couple of tries in order to get in. Movies and shows took a long time trying to load and the captions were always out of line. Another thing is that my movie would play back to an earlier scene of the movie. I have looked at the other reviews and saw that other people were not happy with the app.

    Generally the app works well in terms of streaming shows and movies. However, HBO needs to spend some time using the Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Video apps to work on the flow of the app. Navigation in this app is very difficult. I’m currently watching Ballers. It shouldn’t take more than one “click” to start the next episode of a show when one ends (that’s when the credits start, not when they end). When I finish an episode, and close the app, the next time I open the app I shouldn’t have to search for the show all over again, I should be able to pick up right where I left off. And no, I don’t want to continue watching from the end credits of the last episode I watched. I feel like the app was developed with movies in mind, where you’re watching one at a time - but there needs to be some changes made to streamline the experience for someone binging on tv episodes.
  • Absolutely HORRIBLE!!!!

    One star only because it doesn't allow zero stars. The app was fine until the so called "bug" fix in January 2018. Now it's riddled with problems. 1. The screen won't rotate. And no, portrait lock is not on. All other media rotates just fine. 2. It no longer recognizes my iTunes password and is prompting "free trial for a month" or "create a profile". Can't get past this, so I have no access. 3. I'm still PAYING iTunes for this app, uninterrupted. To be clear THE ONLY REASON I have this app is for GAME OF THRONES. If and when I find a better way to watch GOT I will get rid of this annoying piece of garbage and of course STOP PAYING FOR THIS.
  • Painfully Slow Fast Forward/Rewind

    Fast forwarding and rewinding through content on my Samsung television with Chromecast happens only at the slowest speed. Unlike every other viewing app (and every previous version of this one), there’s no way to quickly scan through content. Skipping half a movie takes five minutes of continuously holding down the button. I’m not exaggerating. It’s a tedious, infuriating problem. Who could possibly have thought this was a good change to make? I like HBONow but if this problem isn’t addressed it’ll be a dealbreaker. Please fix this.
  • Update is the worst

    Update erases log in. It states that you can use an app. Nope It says via web site , you’re ready to watch. Nope. Great content but the app is terrible.
  • Works but not well

    This app could take a few lessons from Netflix. It constantly disconnects and acts like my chrome cast isn’t there.
  • Freezing

    I’m connected to a high speed Ethernet cable and streaming keeps freezing, ima paying a monthly fee for this and can’t enjoy it, will be cancelling my subscription!
