    This is quite possibly the worst app I’ve ever downloaded in my life. Anytime I try to watch a show it buffers every 2 minutes and takes forever to start back up. I have a strong WiFi connection and no other issues with other streaming apps such as Netflix. Something has got to give.
  • New version is garbage

    The latest update made the app far worse. Navigation is much more confusing (and it wasn’t good before), and now several individual episodes are having problems for me, making most of what I watch unwatchable. They better fix this soon, because it’s a lot of money to spend per month on a service that doesn’t work
  • Disappointing

    By this makes it more frustrating
    Apparently PS3 is no longer supported. So paying $14.99 a month isn’t enough, I am expected to pony up for a PlayStation upgrade if I want to watch on a full size tv. Also am struggling with specific episodes playback not loading if I try to watch on my iPhone.
  • Great content, terrible app

    The irony of watching a fantastic show like Silicone Valley by streaming on this terrible app is not lost on me. As the boys dialogue about compressing video files to allow for the best ever streaming quality, I laugh and punch my wall out of frustration because this terrible app is constantly freezing. The app literally buffers and freezes every 10 minutes. The user interface is also terrible, but that’s not as bad as not being able to watch the content. I like being able to stream on multiple devices, but as a cable subscriber, I think it’s time to delete this app and unsubscribe. Do yourself a favor and do the same.

    This app, and the one on Amazon are both crap. I don’t have any trouble watching anything on any other streaming app except HBO. I can watch something on this app maybe 2x a month. Again, NO OTHER STREAMING APP (Hulu, Metflix, Directv Now) has any issues playing movies or shows. Every time I reach out to Customer support, it’s always the same thing... uninstall, reboot, reinstall, make sure you have the latest version, make sure your device is updated, blah blah blah... after having this app for 6mths don’t you think I’ve already done all of this 10x before I reached out to you?!?! You’d think as much as they are making, they could afford to have decent apps. HBO - Please do NOT reach out to me with the SAME INSTRUCTIONS YOU SEND EVERYONE FOR TROUBLESHOOTING. I’ve already done them hundreds of times. Don’t reach out unless you’re actually going to fix the problem.

    The newest iPad Pro came out several months ago and the screen size still isn’t supported. To watch my shows I have to endure the black bars normally associated with widescreen video which is fine but to now have a lovely pair of side bars is getting old pretty fast. Please update and fix this soon.

  • Interface has become very user unfriendly

    It was never very easy to use, but this latest version on my AppleTV is horrendous. You now have to -every time- go to the top right “browse” option to select a category such a series or movies. Whose bright idea was this? It makes for a very disjointed interface that has zero flow. To change categories you have to go back to the top right of the screen to to the browse option, using the equally horrendous new AppleTV remote with touchpad. Is this a conspiracy between Apple and HBO to see how hard they can make their products to use? The previous version of HBONOW let you move from one category by scrolling to the left panel and then scrolling down to the next category. Can I have that back please?
