  • Could’ve Been Great

My husband and I purchased this app to help keep us both on the same page about our budget, after ready Dave Ramsey’s books. At first it was great, just set the budget and drag and drop. Then our bank had an outage on the app, three months later our bank still has an outage. I’ve spoken with technical support for the last three months and they have no idea how long it will take to get the bank back. All the while the Mint app is connected to our bank, which is free. So I keep asking and keep getting the same “ we hope to have it fixed soon” message. I finally got so fed up I contacted iTunes to get a refund, but of course, we had canceled the subscription to not renew at the year mark, we couldn’t get any sort of refund. Which we didn’t know, because we followed the instructions from the every dollar company on how to get a refund. So now we are out WAY too much money for an app that literally doesn’t work, and the company has stated there is nothing they can do for us because we purchased the subscription through iTunes and not online. My suggestion, don’t waste your money. Find a different budgeting app that is more reliable or at least cheaper, because if you bank loses connection you won’t see a dime back, which to me seems cruelly ironic.
  • App is too expensive

Wanted to like the app, but it’s missing a couple features. It’s not as real time as I’d like...can take 2-3 days for transactions to come through, so you can think you’re on budget when you have already over spent. And the amount left to spend is based on your budgeted income instead of actual income, which isn’t accurate. The bottom line for me is the plus version is way too expensive for what you get, especially considering it’s coming from a company that is trying to get people to spend less, not more. I would go with mint, which does all this and more for free.
  • Holy cow! Way to expensive !!

  • This is the budget app I’ve been looking for

THE PERFECT BUDGETING APP! I’m so glad I found this. I’ve tried several different budget/spending tracker apps out there, and all weren’t quite what I was looking for. I finally found what I was looking for in EveryDollar. -The well designed and attractive interface is very easy to navigate without sacrificing on features (I found other apps to be either too complicated or too minimalist). -Allows for BOTH budget planning AND daily expense tracking, with the ability to quickly toggle between viewing your “Planned”, “Spent”, and “Remaining” funds for each category. -Splits up categories in a sensible way, saving you a lot of work while still providing maximum flexibility/customizability.

The app is great for a first year developer, beyond that it's stuck in 2005. Here's a short list off the top of my head: 1. MFA Multi-factor authentication. 2. Multiple users can use the same budget. My spouse & I should be able to log into the same budget without using the same username/pw combo. 3. Cache those creds! The app won't even cache a username, so it's too much trouble to "easily" use on the fly. I can't just pop it open for a quick entry. 4. A button to reconcile planned expenditures vs actual spend. Example: (You budgeted $600 for mortgage this month, flip this button if that is what you paid, or enter a number manually.) Having to re-enter the number again is not user friendly. 5. Offline access. Caches the data locally, we don't all live with high-speed internet. Cache now, sync when available.
  • Apple Watch comparability

I wish they would come out with a way to connect it with the Apple Watch so you can conveniently add transactions on the go.
  • Unnecessary

This app makes you go thru a bunch of steps and reroutes you to external sites just to create an account, it seems unnecessary and over complicated for a simple budgeting app
  • They corrected the connection problem

Update: the EveryDollar service agent was extremely helpful and sympathetic to my requests for fixing the bank account connections. The technicians took 6 weeks to fix the connection problem with my bank. Currently at three stars bc I’m hesitant about the stability. Feb 2019 Review: I put a service call into EveryDollar because two of my bank accounts stopped connecting. I talked through the problem with their service agent, who was very polite. It’s now been three weeks and they have not fixed the problem. Why would I use this paid app if the bank connections don’t work? There are other free apps out there that don’t have this problem. I was speaking with a friend about his budget and it crossed my mind to recommend this app, but I instead mentioned the problem with the bank verification and how much time I’ve spent manually entering transactions.
  • Great budget app

As a person with limited financial knowledge and not knowing how to set a budget correctly, this is a great app to use. I have tried to use other budgeting apps, but they were a bit confusing and their design not very user friendly. I love how this one is straightforward with the design and simple to understand.
  • Not bad, but...

Wish it would remember my merchants and which categories they should draw funds from. I have a checkbook register app that does this and I can manually change the category when need be.
