App Reviews

  • Poor app design and content

    By hoorayberet00
Dear Acorn: I want to love your app and subscription. But poor design, execution and limited assets that you release make it unattractive. Please consider making your app to be fully integrated with Apple TV, Siri Remote and the TV app in iOS. Your app is a poor experience on any platform right now. I am not alone in my opinion and I hope to appeal to you to enhance the experience for folks who know that you can do better. Also, it looks like you hold tight to your assets. However in doing so, you are making it clear that you do not place the customer at the center of everything that you do. For example, why is only some of your Poirot Collection available and not all? It’s shameful. Why do you not allow full screen viewing? Why do you not allow picture-in-picture in your app? Why do you still have problems with subtitles? Thanks in advance for letting me provide feedback.
  • Claim app is fixed, STILL NOT FIXED

    By Thriftygirl47
Love the shows, hate the app. Don’t bother with this streaming service unless you have a Roku. Samsung smart tv isn’t compatible any longer, Chromecast hasn’t worked for weeks now. Reported them to BBB because not a single customer service communication has addressed my request for a refund for time unable to cast to my tv. I’m paying for a service I can only watch on my tiny phone??? No thank you. Btw, all customer service is done via email, and it takes days and days for a response. Yeah, it’s less than $10 a month, but don’t bother. You can get a couple lattes instead of this headache!
  • Still can’t use Chromecast

This app, which I continue to be charged for even though it’s useless, is in need of serious help. I’m just unsubscribing until y’all can get it figured out.
  • Casting has not worked for weeks and no guess when it will

    Please fix or refund.
  • Constantly screw up

    By .ww
This is the only app I have trouble with! To finish watching a series I have to cancel the app on iTunes and go through prime. Ridiculous! No problem with BritBox or pbs Hulu Netflix or prime. This just stops allowing you to cast.
  • Chromecast Problems

    By stopthissillynesd
I’m still unable to Chromecast using my iPhone. Will cancel subscription if this continues. Acorn is worthless to me without Chromecast.
  • Chromecast has stopped working....again

    By Midnite'nSalem
After Acorn’s latest update, Chromecast finally started working..for a day. Now, the cast icon is not even showing on the Acorn app. YouTube & Netflix no problem with casting.
  • Please answer my help tickets

I love Acorn but all of a sudden instead of saying cast to chromecast it says find device. BritBox works find on my chromecast what changed I deleted and reloaded plugged and unplugged nothing works and can’t get help from Acorn
  • Used to be good...what happened??

    By Pgh533765
I’ve been using the acorn tv app with chromecast and up till a couple of weeks ago it worked just fine. Then it suddenly wouldn’t play anything. I gave it a few days and then emailed acorn. It took them SIX DAYS to respond and then it was a “form letter” saying they were aware of the problem and were “diligently” working on it. It’s been another week or two since then and it still isn’t working—but my charge card was charged for the service nonetheless! Now it seems worse—it won’t even recognize my chrome cast anymore. I know it isn’t the chrome cast as Netflix works just fine. Get it fixed, acorn—it was fine before, so undo whatever you did to make it not work!
  • Good library, terrible experience

    By ❤ 
Aside from a good library of shows, this is by far the worst streaming service I’ve ever used. Let’s ignore the terrible UI that makes it difficult to continue watching a series, the most common thing you want to do. Let’s just focus on the streaming: streams are blocky and stall out regularly (especially during peak hours) and the best the quality ever gets to is 720p. I have zero problems with Netflix, Amazon, iTunes, ESPN, PBS, you name it. This is the only thing I use that fails. Once I finish watching some key shows, I’ll be cancelling. The pain of the AppleTV app and the terribly streaming, regardless of device, is not worth the time, let alone the money.
