Babbel – Learn Languages App Description

Learn Spanish, French, Italian, German, and many more languages with Babbel. Developed by a team of language learning experts, Babbel has helped millions of people speak a new language with confidence. THE BABBEL METHOD Here’s what makes Babbel more effective than any other language learning app: 1. Confidence — Our goal is to get you speaking from your very first lesson. And our elegantly designed courses give you the confidence to get there. We teach you how to engage in practical, everyday conversations, making it easier for you to have authentic experiences in your new language. 2. Comprehension — Our lessons immerse you in relevant culture and real-life conversations. We want you to really take in the language, not just memorize useless phrases. And we provide helpful hints in English (or your native language) to make your new language more relatable. 3. Retention — We know you’re busy. That’s why our lessons are short but sweet: about 10-15 minutes, and designed to send your new language straight to long-term memory. We regularly refresh your memory with our dynamic review sessions, which target areas where you need improvement most. Finally, we make sure you really grasp what you’re learning by bringing it back later in a new context. it’s a good app but it should put more languages because every app like this always has the general languages but whatever.
  • Voice recognition does not work

There are some modules that won’t properly recognize correct pronunciations. I’ll be speeding along getting everything right and then suddenly when I use words I have already got correct, I’m told it’s not right. I tried literally scores of times and could not get the system to register it as correct. Worse, it doesn’t tell you what it thinks you’re doing wrong, so there is no way to improve. In this case, I’m certain I am pronouncing the word correctly and the system is just garbage. However, what if I were to pronounce it wrong and not know that I was? I would have no way to know because there is no feedback. It’s either right or wrong. So I’m stuck at a beginning level. Definitely trying to get a refund. The technology is not good enough for this app to exist yet.
  • Very helpful!

I’ve taken some Spanish when in college, but it always seemed to go too fast. Cover a subject, memorize, and regurgitate the information and move on. Only, that method never really stuck with me. I consider myself a beginner and I needed a course that would allow me to do it at my pace. With Babbel I can go back to previous courses a take them again to make them ‘stick’ in my brain. My only problem is the review tests in the app. I wish I could do the review test over and over, but I can’t. Once you take the tests they’re gone. Unless I’m wrong and you can somehow reset the feature to allow multiple review tests, I have not found a way yet. Really like the app. Would definitely recommend it. I has me inspired to one day take a South American Spanish immersion course for a few weeks, then move on to take the DELE exam. If you dream, dream big. Right?

The app is well functioning and it works quite well. If you could add Japanese or korean it would be even better. Thank you.

I kinda was looking here to search for Japanese I love Japanese and it’s culture it’s just I don’t know how to speak it well actually I have a few apps and I already speak 6% fluent Japanese but I use 3 apps already and they’re quite difficult and so I thought this looks a little easier until I didn’t see Japanese, but hopefully one day you’ll add Japanese (Please) so I just wanted to ask if you could add Japanese.

I greatly enjoy the app compared to other language learning apps even in the short time I’ve been using it, but the problem is that I really wish that there wasn’t a requirement for a subscription in order to further your learning. Babbel gives you details like how to pronounce certain letters, goes much more in depth, and just has different methods of teaching that I like better.
  • Double charge!

  • My subscription has gone!

I subscribed German for 3 months with my iPhone and it’s gone now! After my subscription, it asks me to select a subscription again and even the price has changed. First when I did my subscription for 3 months, it was about 7... Something per month then now it says it’s 10 per month now! Please solve this ASAP!!

My credit card company declined transaction, I called to inquire why and they identified the site as high risk, their words, not mine.
