  • Out of the park!

I agree with acudoc37. When the app first came out it was missing some features. The current version is fantastic with how the information is presented and most importantly, how I can search for the information I want.
  • amazing app!

2 years ago I rated a 1 star since, despite contacting the developer, I was unable to access the app when I switch phones. Now they have fixed the issue (took them 1.5 years) but it is well worth it. 2 full books for less than the price of 1, No toting around heavy books. Instant info at your finger tips. The way it should be in a digital age. Thanks for (finally) getting it together, it was worth the wait.
  • It’s all better now!

    By acudoc37
Three years ago I gave this app only three stars because some of the book material was not included, and there was no index. Now the updated version has powerful search features that are better than an index, and it includes all of the book material. It’s a much more useful app now. Chinese herbal medicine is a lifelong study, and I love being able to go deeper anytime I want. Never miss an opportunity to learn because you don’t have 20 pounds of books in your pocket. Here they are, right in your phone or tablet. Thanks, Eastland Press!

The app just had a major update making it so easy to use. I love it and use it all the time!
  • Amazing, essential

Update: The latest iPad app redesign is not as good as the original. I want to be able to read a full screen again. It is unfortunate and frustrating, as the original design was excellent. Please revive full screen text. ——— This app will not only reduce the strain on your arms and shoulders, as it compiles two massive tomes of herbal knowledge, but it will improve your practice of herbal medicine by affording the reader seamless connections through hyperlinked formulae and singles. The text itself is immaculate, organized wonderfully and presented with beautiful minimalism. The prose and historical research is rich and inspiring. I believe for an acupuncturist, this is an essential app to own. I am so happy it exists!
  • Great text and improved search.

I have had this app for a few years and found it to be an indispensable app. I love the links within the text that help me move from formulas to more about the individual herbs, which would take a great deal of time in the paper copies of the original tex. Thank you designer, Gary Niemeier, and developer Phil Mitchel for the new search features. I am sure I will have less navigation between multiple apps.
  • Invaluable for Herbal Studies

    By koabal85
I love this app, and I love that it integrates the two books, so that one can not only see the formulae but also the individual herbs. If you’re a student of Chinese Medicine, and you need an easy, portable reference, the Full Version ($99.99) is more than worth the cost! I wish 2 things could be added: 1) I wish that when you’re looking at Formula Comparisons, if the Description is not included under the current formula, you should be able to jump to that description direclty, instead of only jumping to that other formula page and then scrolling down to find it. (Maybe add a “Go To” option?) 2) I wish we could make highlights (and eventually notes) in the app, and be able to look at them either “on the page” or from a separate “highlights and notes” section!
  • No benefit

It will not load, not even after resetting my phone, deleting and redownloading it, and after contacting Apple. A total waste of $20.
  • Disappointing

    By DoggieDaddi
Samples in free version give impression that $20 version will contain significant information in an accessible format. I figured it would be a good "on the go" app for when my books aren't at hand. Instead this version is so brief as to be of little benefit. The layout is goo, but if you already have TCM Clinic Aid, this version is a waste of money.
  • Brilliant

Being an oriental medicine student who is almost graduating, there aren't too many textbooks that get me thrilled. These two books are awesome. I've only scratched the surface of these books; most of my teachers (except for maybe one in the entire school) barely know the fine details of how the herbs or formulas work. A very well-written and insightful pair of books. Personally, I hate TCMclinicAid & cringe at people who support it. I think it's a cheap cop-out, and a testimony to getting what you pay for. And, yes, you can restore previous purchases. Just click on the three-dot icon, then purchases, then restore.
