  • Okay, but Not for Me

    By Tim in VT
I’ve only had this app for a short time, but my initial response is that it doesn’t work for me. The content is fine, clearly mainstream Evangelical, which I can live with. It’s that every meditation that I have listened to feels rushed to me. There’s not enough space, not enough quiet. What I want in a guided meditation is less instruction and more time to breathe and think and pray. I’m going to keep looking for an app that fits me better.

  • Not really meditation, more like a devotional app

    By HoosiersinNJ
I am a Christian counselor and a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. I am keenly aware there are spiritually dangerous meditation practices/apps out there. I was thrilled to see a Christian meditation app and more than happy to pay for this service and to support the ministry for others. I also thought it was very clear, not at all deceiving that it was a self pay app and a fair price for the potential benefit. However, I think it is not really a meditation app for a few reasons. First we are to meditate on the word of God and this is a lot of talking by someone else. Second, it is waaayyyy to fast and busy for real meditation and experiencing the presence of God. My brain processes things pretty fast, but not this fast. So I end up trying to focus on each word as it rushes past and getting mostly just frustrated. Third, there is no time or coaching to train the mind to the present using sensory prompts. If we are not in the present we are not experiencing God fully since we are only alive in the present moment, unlike Him who is eternally present. I really wanted this to provide me all those supports for truly abiding with Him and I am sad it did not. Thank you for your ministry and the passion for the Lord that drives it. Clearly you are meeting a need for many. May your ministry continue to be blessed.
  • The Abide app has been a great encouragement to me.

I have been going through some difficult times and I have found Abide to be a uplifting encouragement to me on a daily basis helping me through a dark time. I am looking forward to the help that the future content will bring me. I thank God for the help I am receiving from Abide. I am sure you are helping many people with your prayerful and inspired content. I pray that you continue to do the good work you are doing and add more content as time goes by. Thank You.
  • Not understanding the relaxation experience

    By billjenkins
This is a prayer app and does not elicit relaxation. Very disappointed there terrible buy at 30 dollars per year. I chose instead a background app of nature sounds and used another device google to supply relaxing prayer no cost. By the way the speakers read their prayers in voices that heighten your state of arousal.

I have been listening to Abide for several months now. The meditations really help me focus on God, even if just for 5 minutes, though I try to do the 15 minute option. It gives me something to think about throughout the day, keeping my thoughts focused on the Lord. Abide has greatly helped me to slow down and focus on God’s words.

  • Thanks!

This is such a great way to grow in the word and love the sleep mode with the longer stories . My 5 year old grand daughter Listens to the lowly child. I would love to see more for the younger kids to grow in the word. It teaches her that God love’s her.

So very disappointed. The little bit I was able to do was great and I loved the prayers and journaling and everything it offered however it limits you to so little and keeps returning to the “Sign up for Free Trial”. That’s so annoying And misleading
