  • Please update

Not compatible with iOS 11. Please update this really useful app. Thanks
  • Won’t open under iOS 11

Really love this app, but it no longer works under iOS 11. One of the few non-functional apps I’ve left on my device in the hopes it'll be updated with a fix. A 5 star app under the prior os-es. Really going to miss this one if it’s just dead at this point.
  • Great resource

I love this app. I wish you also offered left-handed chords for those with left handed uses.
  • Decent app but needs tweaks

    By Felixanger
Decent app. Needs more options and features. 1. Needs a bigger chord library or better yet ability to do custom chords as mentioned by earlier reviewers. 2. Needs adjustable font size. 3. Needs a no chords option on the PDF views. I know how to play my chords and don't need them eating up a chunk of space at the top of each page. 4. Option for title on page 1 only. My sheets are 4 pages long, and that is using no space between verses and choruses. I'm a fan of 1 page chord sheets but they are nigh impossible with this app. 5. PDF view preview pane for active line or ability to edit in PDF view. Switching back and forth to tweak spacing becomes tedious.
  • One fix would get this a five star rating...

    By Maestro Mitch
This app would be over the top fantastic if you could load all the lyrics to a song at once rather than a single line at a time. Still it's a handy and very useful app. Go ahead and get it if you write or like to transcribe songs.
  • Very Useful

I use Chordtones all the time. It is very handy for transposing all the chords from a key with difficult fingerings to another that is much easier. The only problem I have with it is that it crashes when I use its Print function. I have to save my song to Dropbox and print from there. (Using a Wi-Fi printer.) Even with this setback it is a great program. Think of it as a word processor for stringed instruments. Type one line of words and another of chords that you can easily move over the correct syllable. Use it once and you'll be hooked!
  • Fret board

    By Tombickles
The app is pretty good but It seems i can only made codes on a certain part of the fretboard. Can't seem to go up to 6 and beyond that. Am I missing something?
  • Wow, did I need this one

Lovely app, but unfortunately only available for iPad. It would be so lovely if the authors made a Mac application. Admittedly it only cover first position chords, but it is so straight forward to transcribe a song/composition with chords (note, this is not a tablature app, it will not suffice for finger style) and then easily transposing to another key. Brilliant and worth it at twice the price. Bravo!
  • Worthless

    By Bohemo
Worthless... that is unless you only play the Mel Bay chords they list... and only in the first position. The ability to edit chord blocks and create your own chord library would make this a useful application.
  • Good, could be better

    By Nikhedonia
Pros: 1) does what it says it does 2) Convenient 3) Easy to use Cons: 1) Chord library is a bit limited. I would like to have the chance to enter alternate voicings for chords, or even my own chords. 2) You can only paste one line at a time, otherwise it fails. Should be able to paste a number of lines and have the program place them appropriately 3) Would like to be able to back songs up to computer outside of the backup iPad process
