Hinge: Dating & Relationships App Description

Hinge is the dating app that’s great at one thing: setting you up on great dates. And we’re not just saying that. On Hinge, 3 out of 4 first dates lead to second dates and we’re the #1 dating app mentioned in The New York Times wedding section. So if you’re looking for a BFF, a job, a pen pal, or a hookup, Hinge isn’t the place for you. Hinge is exclusively designed to get you out on great dates. Here’s how we do it: We quickly learn your type. You'll only be introduced to the best people for you. We give you a sense of someone’s personality. You'll get to know potential dates through their unique answers to prompts, and basic information like religion, height, and politics. We make it easy to start a conversation. Every match begins by someone liking or commenting on a specific part of your profile. Recently released! *Most Compatible: Each day we pair you with the one person we think you’re most likely to hit it off with. • Welcome back Online Dating

This is a refreshing change. The layout is easily conducive to a good conversation. A few pictures and not too much bio makes for better q & a and better banter. Home Run!
  • Best app for dating

    By atl.jy.bb
This app is the best one I’ve used ever. I had been single for three years before using Hinge. I had Tinder and Bumble for a while with not a lot of luck. A lot of first dates but it seemed like most people on those sites only wanted to hook up. Hinge is better if you’re looking for something a bit more serious but not trying to get married right now! Hinge let’s you see their political and religious views which is super important to me and helped me connect with the person I’m with now. If you haven’t had luck with other apps try Hinge.
  • Love this app..but

I am giving this app 5 stars because I have met some really nice women on here and love the app. The Hinge staff is very cool to. However the app is buggy at times and I find myself having to delete and reinstall often. Besides that I’m sure once their engineers get the bugs out this app will be the only app worth using of your looking for quality matches.
  • Can’t upload all photos

    By RicassoRob
It keeps telling me I need 6 photos to start but as soon as I make it to the 4th or 5th photo in the app goes completely white and won’t let me do anything. I have to quit the app and reopen it to try again and get the same result

App reset and I lost everything. Super bummer. Will never be back.
  • Please squash the chat/profile scroll bugs!

By everyone has taken all of the good nicknames
When scrolling between chat and profile the app often freezes causing you to manually restart and lose you’re whole message.
  • Good setup, people use it wrong

    By aagg33
This app offers a “comment” box anytime you like someone. It’s a way to start a conversation. Unfortunately, many people leave this box blank. So even though the app gives u the perfect reason to actually connect with someone, most people are too lazy to actually try.
  • Too many fake profiles

    By EmB732
I downloaded Hinge to try something different. I had done the circuit around Tinder, Bumble, OkCupid, etc; but I thought I would have a different experience on Hinge. Boy...was I right. I matched with a few people and started some conversations. However, I noticed some of my matches said they were US soldiers, one supposedly stationed in Syria. As I conversed with them on and off the app, I noticed a ton of discrepancies in our conversations, and then they started asking for iTunes gift cards. Red flags everywhere. One has tried to convince me that he is the real person I’ve seen pictures of, but a deep dive into Reverse Google Image search has shown me otherwise. Never have I encountered so many fake profiles in my life. I’ve had better luck connecting with real people on Tinder than on Hinge. If they made the app more secure, I would give it another shot. Like Bumble has the verified profile feature where people have to send in pictures of themselves with not so usual poses to confirm identity. Until then, I won’t be using Hinge anymore.
  • Zero stars

Literally every girl I talked to was a fake profile asking me to send them money ! I talked to 5 or 6 girls they were alllll fake it’s horrible. I would recommend not even trying it because i donno where my data is going now to !
  • Great App!

I wanna start by saying I love how the app looks but I can’t say that I love the app because I don’t. It has the usual issues of an ill fitted match pool. Most of the guys in my area are really creepy looking or their profile is a joke which I know that the app developers cannot control. It would be nice if they included a word minimum word limit on the required prompts for the profiles in an effort to eliminate the annoying joke profiles or put a face recognizer in for the photos. Or maybe dating apps just aren’t for me 🤷🏽‍♀️
