Could you add a feature for “reading” so that the border icons and things be removed when reading?

Let me begin by saying this: Notability is everything I have ever wanted from a note-taking app. It replaced my notebooks, Evernote, and folder with syllabi/other class materials. The Mac App is useable, but I find that using my iPad Pro with its keyboard is so much better for lectures that require written notes. For classes like organic/physical chemistry, calculus, and physics I use my Apple Pencil, which is where one of my two complaints comes in (see below). The UI is intuitive and deceptively simple. A few buttons packs a huge punch with this app. The cloud sync is flawless: when I make/change a note on one device it is almost immediately accessible on my others. I typically make my notes on my iPad and later do reviews using my phone. On that note, I am super happy this app lets me use my own iCloud storage instead of forcing me through some third-party cloud or having me purchase theirs. I love that I can change the paper’s color and have lined, grid, or blank sheets. I frequently export my notes as a PDF (which is perfect) to share them with peers and students I tutor. I have gotten at least 10 other people (one of them a professor) to start using this app, as I am frequently asked about it in class. Another wonderful thing is the cut/copy/paste functions. In my chemistry courses (I am an upper-level biochemistry student) I frequently have long mechanisms to write out and being able to paste repeating structures is amazing. Primary complaint: When I am writing, the magnification button in the bottom right sometimes recognizes my palm, causing the pencil to momentarily become unresponsive. When it comes back it drops a huge line across my screen. I admit, this requires simply hitting the back button to fix, but sometimes it is very frustrating to have to pause in the middle of a long mechanism and wait for the pencil to respond again. Simple fix: move the magnification and scroll buttons to the top right where the palm won’t be a problem and very few people are going to be writing anyways. Secondary complaint: the app uses Google Drive to import PDFs. I’ll admit, I have no idea why they need to do it this way. I just don’t like that I have to shuttle my PDFs through a third-party to add them to my notes. This is true on the Mac app as well. Something I would like to see added but isn’t really a hindrance: linking to other notes from within a note. Many other popular note-taking apps have this capability (Evernote, for example). Not really a complaint, but it would be useful.

This app is nearly perfect, like 99.9999% 3 things I wish this app could do in order of importance 1. Have it so I can have multiple pens preset in different colors (one touch color changes, makes it easier for color coded note taking) 2. Area eraser along with stroke 3. rotate slides (not super important
  • Could be better

It would be a lot better if it had OCR, a distraction-free mode, and deeper file nesting. Otherwise, it does the job well.
  • WHY CANT IPHONE NAME NOTES

Don’t get me wrong. This is a fantastic app. Used on iPad for years as a college student and continue using on iPhone. Best I’ve seen on the app store, really could not ask for more. With one caveat: On iPhone version, YOU CANNOT NAME INDIVIDUAL NOTES. WHY? it is the most basic operation in terms of organization and they just seemed to overlook it. Perfect app besides this. Fix it and I will definitely change to 5 stars.
  • More Colors Please?

Umm this app is real dope but i would really appreciate more variety in colors. My brain is sick of these same 32 colors and I am seeing them in my sleep. So yeah, more colors please.

  • This is THE note-taking app

I debated between a few apps and this one came out on top. All of my friends use it as well, so it’s so much easier to exchange notes because we can airdrop it to each other and the formatting remains perfect. It also is compatible for split screen with other apps to I can watch a video and take notes on it at the same time. The only feature I wish they would add is the ability to split screen your own notes within the app. I download worksheets and I would be nice to not have to go back and forth between reference notes and just be able to view both at the same time.
  • Freezing on me lately

Love this app, normally I’m at a 4.8-5 star rating for it because I literally use it every day and it makes getting my iPad for college so worth it. With that in mind though, it’s been crashing a lot on me recently and I’m not sure why. I’ll be in the middle of using it and then all of a sudden it’ll freeze and I can’t write or move the page or anything! Then when I try to open it back up the circle just stays spinning and I need to completely restart my iPad to get it working again. Not the best bug to have in the middle of class and especially not during finals week. Please fix!!!
