Ive used the free version of this app for every run I've tracked in the last few months. So great to get the update of my speed every half mile. I would recommend this to anyone on the run! -update: I have purchased the full version of this app after deciding to train for my first private 50k for my birthday next year. Love the this app. Been with it for going on 2 years now

  • Crashes on locked screen

The latest version crashes soon after an activity stars. It happened half a dozen times by now, about half the time I tried using the app. There is no way to know that the app crashed, unless you leave your screen on and habitually check your phone.

Runkeeper is great! I’m a big fan of the picture feature, because I can look back at all the places I’ve run. I’ve been using this app for 3 years now and it’s been extremely reliable with measuring distance and location in various areas. Other features that are super helpful: the fact that it has audio notifications of your distance & pace, the fact that you can rate your run by how it felt, and the interval workout feature. :)
  • Used to be the best running app

I used to love this app, its free plan for 2:30 1/2 marathon got my time down from 2:45 to 2:26 . But ever since asics took over its been going downhill. Now its as greedy and expensive as mapmyrun by under armor. The fact you can only get training plans with premium is obnoxious. The free plans are already written and were already available, it wouldn't cost anything to keep them up at least for loyalty of your old customers ( ive been using this app for ~6years). Very disappointed.

Out for a run today, surprise RKPR went to the SAVE/DISCARD screen with no RESUME. Had to save, start a new activity...the clock started, but distance stayed at 0.0. This is on Apple Watch Gen 3 with cellular, iPhone app not used. Would my ASICS shoes stop halfway in a run?

Lots of features, use all or just a few. Easy either way. Have used without issue for years.

The really good: I’ve improved my time by 2 minutes per mile since I started using Runkeeper a month or so ago. (I’m slow, so there’s plenty of room for improvement.) This is thanks to the training program, which has challenged me at a perfect pace and made it fun to step out and see how I’m doing. Each week I get a new set of runs geared to my current state of fitness. It’s kind of a thrill to see the app assuming I can do a little more than I think I can, and then to find out that the app is right. I also like the other features, including the weight loss feedback. The less good: My weekly plan is only released on Sunday morning, so I can’t necessarily plan ahead the way I’d like to. It would be great if we could get a preview of the coming week as soon as the current week’s runs are logged. Then I’d know if Sunday was a longer run, for example. A couple of smaller complaints: sometimes the voice coaching doesn’t kick in and I end up missing intervals and having to trash the run and restart. And the interval coaching overrides the mileage alerts, so I don’t always have all the info I need. However, this app is generally great and has been a huge help as I’ve gotten back into running. I tried the Nike app first and it drove me absolutely nuts. This one’s much better. Thanks!
