Google Assistant App Description

Meet your Google Assistant. Ask it questions. Tell it to do things. It’s your own personal Google, always ready to help. Find answers and get things done while on-the-go with the help of your Google Assistant. Remind yourself to stop by the store, pull up your travel photos to show a friend, or make a dinner reservation. With the Assistant app, you can: - Make quick phone calls (e.g. "Call Mom.") - Send text messages (e.g. "Text my bestie.") - Email your boss (e.g. "Here is the latest TPS report.") - Set reminders (e.g. "Remind me to buy a birthday gift for Sarah.") - Set calendar events (e.g. "Set a calendar event for dinner with Charlie tomorrow from 7-9.") - Play music (e.g. "Play jazz music on YouTube.") - Navigate places (e.g. "Get me directions home.") - Weather information (e.g. "Do I need an umbrella today?") *Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Way better than Siri more interactive and useful when it comes to some information
  • Better search than Siri, but bloatware

I am not sure why we need Google Assistant when Google App already exists. What Assistant does used to be done by the Google App with less screen real estate and fewer clicks and swipes. I simply don’t see the need for a separate app just to offer lame features such as, “what football manager thinks like me.” All I wanted to do is track my stock share prices which used to be available in the Google App and have apparently been stripped out in order to coerce me to install this app’s 118 megabytes of unwelcome bloat. This ugly app is more like what I would expect to have come from Microsoft.

How do you find the google help assistance? I know with Siri all you do is say hey Siri, and she will pop up. Is that’s how google works as well? Problem with Siri is I can’t say R’s well and so Siri doesn’t understood me
  • Routines time selection doesn't work

Google Assistant is almost great, because it connects with basically everything... But need Routines to tie it all together and run on schedules. When going to select a time (or even a temperature for my Ecobee), the app whites out the page except for the time picker and won't let me tap "ok" to confirm the time. Tapping Ok or Cancel does nothing, and I have to swipe right to even exit the screen. Please fix this bug and I'll update my rating to 5 stars.! Thanks!

Seems to have a lot of bells and whistles. Tried to connect it to my Nest system from the iPhone app and it couldn’t do it. Hope this gets addressed in the next update.
  • This passed Quality Control?

I can’t see the words on the screen when edit a reminder. I also can’t see the entire reminder in the reminders list. The list view is limited to about 5 words- with no way to expand it. It’s astonishing that that these issues have been present for months. Google has the most fantastic speech-to-text engine and some of Assistant’s features are incredible. It is dumbfounding that I encounter a basic issue- like not being able to see the text field and keyboard at the same time. • iPhone 6S iOS 10.0-11.4

  • Other than a lack of live support, it is the best, and almost perfect

A recent update caused issues with Routines, which could not be addressed through live support because Google does not offer that for this service. However, after three weeks, the issue has been fixed with the most recent update (which does not acknowledge the bug), returning this to the best digital assistant on the market. If Apple allowed native integration (or even remapping of the power button to summon this app), I would never use Siri. Once an equivalent of Alexa’s Brief Mode has been added, it will be worth five stars.

Finding this hard to navigate and it keeps misidentifying events or reservations that it thinks I’m participating in. I preferred the old assistant tab of the google app.
