Google Assistant App Description

Meet your Google Assistant. Ask it questions. Tell it to do things. It’s your own personal Google, always ready to help. Find answers and get things done while on-the-go with the help of your Google Assistant. Remind yourself to stop by the store, pull up your travel photos to show a friend, or make a dinner reservation. With the Assistant app, you can: - Make quick phone calls (e.g. "Call Mom.") - Send text messages (e.g. "Text my bestie.") - Email your boss (e.g. "Here is the latest TPS report.") - Set reminders (e.g. "Remind me to buy a birthday gift for Sarah.") - Set calendar events (e.g. "Set a calendar event for dinner with Charlie tomorrow from 7-9.") - Play music (e.g. "Play jazz music on YouTube.") - Navigate places (e.g. "Get me directions home.") - Weather information (e.g. "Do I need an umbrella today?") *Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

  • Voice compatible except on the open command

I agree with the previous reviewer. I really want full voice integration, which means I can open it with a voice command i.e. as you do with 'hey Siri'. This seems to be default on Android OS, but unfortunately the superior Google Assistant cannot replace Siri.

I feel this app could be greatly utilized as an app for the Apple watch.
  • Great app but neeeeds Apple Watch LTE support

Once you've opened the Google assistant it works great on the iphone. Getting to it is not super easy. You can ask Siri to open it by creating a shortcut and say hey Siri hey Google and it works most of the time..... The killer potential here is on the watch. Add watch support as a complication to any watch face, allow it to use LTE so it doesn't require the phone and then it becomes really useful and available with a tap from the watch screen.

Turkish language is not listed on the language options. Cannot change it.
  • Gsuite users have no core features

I pay for a gsuite account (instead of using a free Gmail account) so that I can have a custom domain. Unfortunately gsuite customers have an inferior experience - Assistant can't access calendar, email, contacts and other core services. Assistant is supposed to be this fantastic AI service the brings out the best of all these Google services but ironically the *paying* customers get none of this. Super frustrating... Especially because they don't disclose this and you probably only find this out the hard way (AFTER you switch to gsuite)
