  • Fine money spending tracking user experience but enough to beat other trash apps

    By Seeyan Zoo
My need is to find an app to recognize the transactions and put it in the right category so that I can track my spending. Unfortunately, the app store have hundreds of apps and other apps do not put too much attention to basic functions and instead to how they make every penny from us customers. Truebill is the choice after I tried 10+ money spending apps but it stills have drawbacks. A big part of my spending is like my friends pay the bill and I give them money via Venmo and other transfers. But Truebill isn't smart in change the categories of those transfers to others. It does not have batch operations and the UI is stupid because it refresh all even if you just change one category of one transaction. It does not recognize the transaction titls very smartly. It seems to me that they only care about the transactions they can benefit from you, like making you believe you should buy their service. That is really short-sighted. But I still give 4-star because other spending tracking apps are trash!
  • Never use this app

    By rockstar569
I used the app to try to lower my AT&T bill and then I decided to cancel the Negotiation. It still went though and I was charged and can not get ahold of anyone to fix this. This is just a way for them to take your money even when you change your mind.
  • Scam

    By jazzzybb
This app makes absolutely no sense. They claimed to have saved me $20 a month on my WiFi bill, but they automatically charged me $40 without my permission a week after I deleted the app and unlinked all my card info. they want you to pay double of the monthly amount that they’re supposedly “saving” you?? Makes zero sense. Tried to call and email and have gotten no response yet, not to mention my WiFi bill is not changed or lowered what so ever so I’m paying them 7 $40 monthly payments for absolutely nothing. This is a scam, don’t even download it. I will be waiting for someone from Truebill to contact me and give me a refund.
  • So convenient

Love the convenience of this app, with premium subscription you pick your monthly payments. They also cancel any subscriptions you have and don’t want anymore. Thanks for the great app
  • Bill lowering service is shady

    By Teddyury
Like other reviews have mentioned, the service which promises to lower bills seems hit or miss. In my case, Truebill lowered my cable bill by $40 (total) at a cost of $90. This is because they arbitrarily estimate the length of the service which defaulted to 12 months. Support seemed to brush off my inquiry and —nearly a week later— I haven't received a response.
  • Fraudluent App

    By zeolite4ever
This app is a complete fraud. I wish I had read other comments, as others appear to have had the same issue as me. They offered to negotiate my Verizon bill. They contacted Verizon and got my bill lowered. TrueBill charged me their commission. However, the only way they got my bill lowered was by taking me off my unlimited plan and placing me on a 10GB plan without my consent. I.e. they downgraded my plan. I contacted Verizon and they confirmed as such. This was misleading and fraudulent, and quite frankly, illegal. I have contacted True Bill customer support and still no response.

This company is a scam and a disgrace. They charge you for things that you can actually do for yourself in order to be compensated for fees or reduce a bill. Please do not think due to a lack of information that they are able to do anything for you that you can not do for yourself. They have no special connections with these companies and even if you do see improvement as others have stated in their reviews their bills late end up even the more outrageous than what they were before. I would suggest for everyone to call your creditors for yourself and ask them about lowering your bills or getting fees returned. I myself have been able to do this for years but was unaware that so many didn't know about it so when I ran across this company I thought they were offering something "different" and was sadly mistaken to say the least. The first opportunity I had, I deleted my account and have not looked back. Also, if you do not change your notification settings will be be annoyed to no end with frivolous and unnecessary emails from them mainly regarding what you probably ALREADY KNOW. I'm sure they are making a good buck off of that feature alone.
  • Doesn’t work as expected

Won’t link all of my accounts I discovered this within 5 mins of signing up for this “premium” and requested a refund immediately. 4 days later I’m still waiting for help getting my money back. It was a hassle just to cancel! So far they’ve only helped me not be charged further but I want my money back.
  • Terrible app!

    By Alwayshome63
First of all the app kept loosing its connection with my bank account. I tried to get the app and my account rekindled several times. After loosing the link between the two a 5th time. I just removed the rest of my accounts that were linked...or so I thought. This month I received a notification from truebill that they negotiated with Verizon on my behalf and saved me $75. That was great! But, I thought they had no access to my account because I’d deleted it. Plus, how could they pay themselves $30 from my account if it was no longer linked! Not only that, after speaking with Verizon they negotiated a new contract on a phone that has had suspended service since December 2017. This renogitiated a new contract on a phone I had lost and didn’t replace, but still had a balance that I was paying on because I owed for the purchase of the new phone. On top of that, this phone was paid off and totally deactivated/removed from my account in Nov 3018. Both TRUEBILL & VERIZON are at fault! At this point TRUEBILL COST ME MONEY rather than saved by adding a contract to a line no longer viable to the tune of at the end of the one year contract on a deactivated phone of around $240. I’m responsible to pay on a contract for a deactivated phone, PLUS THE $30 they paid themselves. So, now I’m out of pocket $270! Will Truebill return my $30 for the fiasco I’ve had to clean up! Stay tuned!
  • I was recommended by a website but

I started reading the reviews and I’m glad I did. I came to check this app out cause I need to lower my bills but I see all these extra fees being charged for helping you lower your bills or for other unknown reasons, and I came here to lower my bills, not give away MORE money. 👎
