JamTracks App Description

JamTracks by JamKazam are the best way to play or sing along with your favorite songs. Far better than traditional backing tracks, our JamTracks are complete multitrack professional recordings, with fully isolated tracks for each part of the music - lead vocals, backing vocals, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, keys, bass, drums, etc. And our free apps and Internet service are packed with features that give you unmatched creative freedom to learn, practice, record, play with others, and share your performances. With our iOS app, you can: * Choose your favorite songs from our catalog of 3,700+ top hits * Listen to just the single part you want to play or sing to learn it * Mute the part you want to play or sing to create your own custom backing track * Slow down playback to practice without changing the pitch * Change the song key by raising or lowering pitch in half steps With our free Mac and Windows desktop apps, you can also: * Use MIDI with VST & AU instruments for keys, electronic drums, more * Play online live and in sync with others from different locations over the Internet And you can also access your JamTracks from a standard browser, and export your custom mixes as mp3 files to use anywhere outside the JamKazam ecosystem. Get your first JamTrack absolutely FREE to try it out with one of your favorite songs. After that additional JamTracks are only $1.99 each for a perpetual license (much like an iTunes digital download).

  • Need to repair mix creation

New mixes cut off the last minute or more of the track. The delete mix function doesn’t work on iPad.

  • Great app, no support

I was very excited about this app and was able to create and download mp3s for the tracks I had created. I went to use the app for a second time a couple of hours before a gig and the online version of the app wasn't working. You need the online version to download mp3s. It said my password was incorrect so I tried to reset the password. It said it sent an email but it never arrived. That was 4 weeks ago. I've tried to reset the password again and I have emailed support but to date have not received any reply. For me the app is unusable if I can't download mp3s. Great app, but NO support at all.
  • Good but one major problem

This app is wonderful--it allows for you to learn new songs by isolating different instruments in the song. The one problem is is that it costs $1.99 for each song. Normally, I would not mind this charge, but I do due to the fact that most of the isolated tracks only play for 20-30 seconds even after they're payed for. Please fix this, otherwise, good app.
  • Perfect practice tool!

I've been a musician for over 20 years. And I've seen practice tools come and go over the years. This is something I wished I would've had when I was a teenager! Wow - "Jamtracks" is a Fantastic practice and performance tool. In the 90's I got my first pro gig traveling in a "top 40 rock" band. I had to learn new songs every week to keep my agent happy and stay employed. It got easier to learn songs efficiently because I always practiced with the band. A real challenge came when I started doing session work that required me mastering my part without ever meeting a musician prior to a recording session. When I got called in to the studio to play my part, man I had to know it cold- note for note; without ever having group practice time. Talk about stress! That was incredibly difficult to do because I didn't have context; hearing the baseline or the drums to keep me in the "pocket" and 'stay on the 1.' So this is where "Jamtracks" saves the day - Im now practicing with the group and hearing the precise mix I want to hear. I've got real context! Plus, for practice-time I can isolate my instrument and hear the precise notes and syncopation that I need to play. I've had this app for barely 3 months so I haven't put it fully to the test. I will put in another entry once I use it in another scenarios. But as far as it goes for now – "JamTracks" is awesome! Give the app a try - it will not disappoint. Oh yeah – to the parents of teenage musicians: if you've got a bunch of teenagers clanking around in your garage; upsetting you and the neighbors - this app is your answer. Put that garage band in somebody Else's garage and have your kid use headphones with "Jamtracks". Fantastic tool!
  • LOVE THE APP, BUT...

Love this app... perfect for practicing and small jams. But I have experienced SEVERAL times when my purchased songs would not play. Agree with another review of the controls. Could use some improvements. For example, I'd love to browse faster but it's very slow. Will give a 5 star when the playback errors are fixed.
  • Almost awesome

This app needs a scroll wheel for artists browsing. The current system requires you to click a button to load 10-20 artists at a time. Too slow. Wanna browse artists starting with the Letter O? Gotta go through A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,k,l,m, & n first. At least give us the ability to load artists by letter

This is a REALLY COOL tool if you're wanting backing tracks(cover band especially) for your live sound. I have not performed live with JamTracks yet but I am anxious to start! My Only issue is this IPhone app version needs to allow volume control over individual instruments(e.g....turn up bass guitar, turn down keys etc). I know you can do it on pc/mac version but I want to use volume control on the IPhone. app too. Other than that i really like what I hear!

The one free song I chose was "Life in the Fast Lane" by The Eagles. The bass line was a little incomplete. The rhythm guitar was wrong. The app has potential, however; if the person recording these tracks is playing incorrectly, the app is not worth paying for.
